Abstract

To the Editor: Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) and wide local excision (WLE) are surgical treatments for malignant cutaneous tumors.1 Successful surgical planning is contingent upon initial biopsy findings. However, discrepancies between the initial biopsy results and intra and postoperative observations during MMS and WLE are not uncommon.2 Several studies have examined this discrepancy, and the aim of this study was to synthesize these discrepancies with particular focus on tumor discordance and upstaging.
