Skeletal class III is characterized by an abnormal relationship between both maxillary bones. This malocclusion can include mandibular prognathism, maxillary retrognathism, or a combination of both. Techniques for treating this malocclusion have evolved over time, starting with extraoral appliances like the facial mask.Currently, there are techniques that involve skeletal anchorage in one or both jaws, aimed at improving treatment outcomes for patients with these malocclusions.
