Abstract

In recent years renewed attention has been given to the principles of resistivity surveying on archaeological sites (see, for example, Palmer, 1960). Yet the tedious business of probe insertion remains. The contribution below, by an archaeologist using resistivity detection from day to day on an extended excavation, describes a new device — revolutionary — which takes us a step nearer‘resistivity without probes’.
