Abstract

Let Ω⊂ ℝd be a bounded open connected set with Lipschitz boundary. Let AN and AD be the Neumann Stokes operator and Dirichlet Stokes operator on Ω, respectively. Further let λ1N ≤ λ2N ≤ … and λ1D ≤ λ2D ≤ … be the eigenvalues of AN and AD repeated with multiplicity, respectively. Then λn+1N lt; λnD for all n ∈ ℕ.
