Abstract

Abstract: Perinatal loss represents a significant traumatic impact on multiple aspects of a mother’s life, profoundly affecting her future plans. A subsequent pregnancy following such a loss involves a complex psychological process characterized by fear, anxiety, heightened sensitivity, a persistent perception of danger, and the emergence of avoidance and safety-seeking behaviors. This process may develop into psychiatric disorders in mothers, primarily mood and anxiety disorders. In this context, we present a clinical case that illustrates the challenges associated with a new pregnancy after multiple perinatal losses, highlighting the inherent impacts and difficulties of this situation.
