Studies of B⁰ → ρ^± π^∓ and Evidence of B⁰ → ρ⁰ π⁰

Abstract

We report studies of B⁰ → π⁺ π^- π⁰, using 78 \rm fb^-1 of data collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e⁺e^- storage ring. We measure the branching fraction for B⁰ → ρ^± π^∓ to be \mathcal B(B⁰ → ρ^± π^∓) = (29.1 ^+5.0_-4.9(\rm stat) ± 4.0(\rm syst)) × 10^-6, and find an untagged charge asymmetry \mathcal A = -0.38^+0.19_-0.21 (\rm stat) ^+0.04_-0.05 (\rm syst). We find the first evidence for B⁰ → ρ⁰ π⁰ with 3.1σ statistical significance and with a branching fraction of \mathcal B(B⁰ → ρ⁰π⁰) = (6.0 ^+2.9_-2.3 (\rm stat) ± 1.2 (\rm syst)) × 10^-6.
