The lattice data for Nf=2 and Nf=3 based on staggered fermion formulations have been parameterized using a phenomenological equation of state for noninteracting but massive quasiparticles. Such a model would be a preferable starting point for phenomenological hadronization models and for a description of the strongly interacting matter near the phase transition.
