We report the synthesis of n-type SnSe1-x using a self-sacrificial, facile, solvo-thermal synthesis route. Electrical and thermal transport measurements suggest a low thermal conductivity and a significant thermopower in the temperature range 100 - 400 K. We also propose the possibility of developing an all SnSe thermoelectric module.
