Objective: The objective of this scoping review is to map and to understand the evidence in relation to co-design models used worldwide. Introduction: Co-design is the involvement of end-users in the development of a program, service, or product. Co-design is underpinned by theoretical and implementation models to ensure that programs are suitable for the communities they are intended for. To the authors’ knowledge, there is currently no published scoping review of co-design models in the literature. Inclusion Criteria: To gain a broad overview of the literature, participant and contextual inclusion criteria will not be specified. Sources that discuss the implementation of co-design, models and case studies will be included. Study types will include both primary, peer-reviewed research, and grey literature. Methods: The JBI methodology for evidence synthesis: Scoping reviews, will guide this review. A search of Medline (OVID), SCOPUS, EmBase (Elsevier), CINAHL (EBSCO), and ERIC databases will occur, supplemented by searching using the CLUES method for grey literature, and a search of the Google Scholar database. This will capture studies published in English that are primary research studies, reports, or dissertations/manuscripts. Data capturing and analysis will be through Covidence, data will be presented using the PRISMA-ScR flowchart, and charting will be conducted using the JBI source of evidence details, characteristics and results extraction instrument via Covidence (Veritas Health Innovation, Melbourne).
