We compare QCD predictions with experimental data on inclusive multiparticle observables whereby we discuss various realizations of the idea of parton hadron duality which is related to a soft confinement mechanism. Special emphasis is given on effects from the running αs, the soft gluon interference, scaling properties and the role of the limiting scale Q0 in cascade evolution.
