Abstract

A theoretical model of Soliton on Finite Background of a family of exact solution of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation for extreme wave generation is discussed in this paper. Some characteristics and physical properties of this solution are explained. The comparisons with experimental results from MARIN and with the simulation result from nonlinear wave model HUBRIS are also presented. The occurrence of phase singularity is observed, as predicted by the theoretical model of Soliton on Finite Background.
