Diagnosis and therapeutic management of meningitis is an emergency. The isolation of Salmonella is rare but an alarming circumstance in infants because of the high risk of neurological complications and death. Salmonella meningitis is more observed in people with sickle cell disease, immunodeficiency or at extreme ages more than immunocompetent people. Its management is heavy, requiring prolonged antibiotic the- rapy in the hospital and neurological follow up. Our objective is to show the importance of 3rd cephalos- porin generation and ciprofloxacin association for relapse-free recovery and low mortality. We report a case of 1 month and 20 days aged infant who is hospitalized for febrile gastroenteritis complicated by sepsis, Salmonella meningitis and micro cerebral abscesses. The infant is recovered after a prolonged double an- tibiotic therapy.
