ependency is the state in which a person needs help from others to perform day-to-day activities. The elderly are the group most affected by loss of functional capacity because aging causes physical and mental deterioration and are more likely to develop chronic diseases with multiple associated health problems. In 2019, the number of elderly people over the age of 60 has reached 1 billion, and it is predicted that the number of elderly people in the world will reach 1.4 billion in 2030. By 2050, the number of elderly people will more than double to 2.1 billion, accounting for 22% of the global population. As the problem of global aging grows, now and in the future exist heavily dependent older adults who need long-term care to maintain and promote the greatest quality of life, well-being, dignity, independence and functioning in daily life. And home care is their favorite pattern of long-term care, family care is mainly provided by family caregivers free care, which brings the caregivers a heavy burden of body and mind, in order to alleviate the burden of family caregivers care, and make the caregivers to live at home as long as possible, many caregivers began to use formal long-term care services, to help the caregivers to provide long-term care.Home care services are the most widely used and popular formal service, which provided by paid caregivers (i. e., home health assistants, or other direct care workers) who help individuals with functional and cognitive disabilities with daily tasks such as cooking, bathing, and medication management.Studies on the impact of home care utilization on caregiver outcomes, such as burden and stress, have produced somewhat contradictory results.Kim et al found a significant reduction in caregiver burden and distress in individuals with care recipients receiving formal home care. This suggests that paid, formal home care may have a positive caregiver. But some studies have found that home care places burdens and stress on caregivers. Based on the above inconsistent results, it is necessary to review the real experience of using home care services to understand the benefits and problems of home care services.
