The Research Centers create scientific knowledge, and from that perspective, they must seek their management to promote the efficiency of transfer processes that allow increasing the capacity to respond to productive, social problems and that allow improving the performance of the organization or the results of a project. This situation presents the need for the scientific researcher to deploy other types of skills demanded by his role as administrator of these centers, and as director of research projects. This article identifies the personal and social skills, through a case study, of the scientists of the Executing Units, dependent on the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research and the National University of La Plata in Argentina. The central evidence is that scientists have a weakness or vacancy in personal and social skills, based on the resistance to incorporate other knowledge, different from that of their research task, and that they influence a deficiency in the management and administration of resources, in the vision of the future for your team and for the R&D Executing Units.
