Abstract

Majorana zero modes in tunneling conductance are expected to manifest as robust zero bias peaks (ZBPs). While ZBPs alone are not conclusive evidence of Majorana modes due to alternative explanations, robust ZBPs remain a crucial and necessary first-step indicator in the search for topological states. Here, we report the observation of robust ZBPs in PbTe-Pb hybrid nanowires. The peak height can reach 2e2/h, though it does not yet form a quantized plateau. Importantly, these ZBPs can remain non-split over sizable ranges in both magnetic field and gate voltage scans, highlighting their robustness. We discuss possible interpretations based on Majorana zero modes as well as Andreev bound states.
