We study the typical collisional velocities in a polydisperse suspension of\ndroplets in two and three-dimensional turbulent flow and obtain precise\ntheoretical estimates of the dependence of the impact velocity of\nparticles-pairs on their relative sizes. These analytical results are validated\nagainst data from our direct numerical simulations. We show that the impact\nvelocity saturates exponentially with the inverse of the particle-size ratios.\nOur results are important to model coalescence or fragmentation (depending on\nthe impact velocities) and will be crucial, for example, in obtaining precise\ncoalescence kernels to describe the growth of water droplets which trigger rain\nin warm clouds.\n
