Abstract

Our results demonstrated that patients with non-absorbable subcuticular skin closures had lower infection rates, better cosmetic outcome and better patient satisfaction outcome compared with skin staples. We therefore suggest using subcuticular sutures to close the skin in elective abdominal open surgery.
