The total organic volatile compounds and fingerprints of the compounds in indoor air have been studied. Houses and buildings have their own specific fingerprints independent of the locations and time of sampling. UFFI houses and non- UFFI houses showed little difference either in the total organic volatile compounds or the fingerprints. The exhaust from wet process copying machines was found to be the common and major volatile organic compound in office buildings.
