Abstract

The proposed study aims to further investigate the relationship between attachment orientation and OCD symptoms by revisiting the potential mediatory effects of IU. Building on the literature, serial mediation analysis will be conducted to determine the effects of attachment orientation on IU which, in turn, may contribute to specific experiences of intrusive imagery and OCD. This specific mediatory relationship would be novel in the attachment and OCD literature. By conducting the proposed study, we hope to develop understanding of the contributing factors in OCD subtypes, ultimately, informing the approach to and treatment of OCD.
