Abstract

Background: No evaluation of the residents’ training in gastroenterology in Tunisia has been conducted so far. Aim: Assess residents' satisfaction with their training. Methods: An anonymous questionnaire was distributed and retrieved from residents in gastroenterology. We sought to evaluate their satisfaction with the theoretical and endoscopic training, the support of seniors, the acquisition of self-learning skills, self-evaluation and expertise. Data analysis has been performed using the SPSS 20. Results: 51 students participated. The average age was 28.14 ± 1.43 years old. 43.1% and 30% of residents were very dissatisfied with the quality of theoretical and endoscopic training. 43.1% of residents felt that their seniors poorly supervised them. Conclusion: Prospects for educational actions to reinforce the quality of gastroenterology training in Tunisia should be planned.
