Abstract

This preregistration is one of two pre-registrations that are part of a study on individual differences in curiosity. The other pre-registration investigates individual differences in curiosity and attitudes and values (https://osf.io/9wg8k/). This current preregistration aims to investigate the relationship between curiosity and attentional control. Self-report data will be collected from participants to assess their trait curiosity, personality dimensions, and levels of attentional functioning. Participants will also undertake attentional control tasks (Simon, Eriksen flanker and Stroop) to provide behavioural data assessing their levels of attentional control. It is hypothesised that individuals who are higher in trait curiosity will have higher levels of attentional control.
