This perspective explores the convergence of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), a proven neurosurgical therapy, and emerging Brain–Computer Interfaces (BCIs) such as Neuralink. Drawing on clinical experience and innovation theory, we outline how DBS can be viewed as a sustaining innovation while Neuralink represents a radical innovation trajectory. We propose a convergence framework, highlight ethical and regulatory considerations, and suggest a collaborative roadmap with potential key performance indicators.
