Diabetes mellitus adversely impacts several organs and is one of the most prevalent causes of death worldwide. While allopathic medications are widely used, their side effects have fueled interest in herbal remedies. Using an animal model, this study compares the anti-diabetic properties of Capparis grandis, Capparis rotundifolia, and Capparis zeylanica. Crude drugs were isolated using cold extraction and put through preliminary phytochemical testing. Quantitative analysis determined total phenols, flavonoids, and tannins. Male Wistar rats weighing 150–220 grams were given streptozotocin (STZ) to make them diabetic. The Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) was used to see how well the drugs worked. The findings showed that body weight had increased and blood glucose levels had dropped. Significant antihyperglycemic effects were seen in all extracts, with C. zeylanica outperforming C. grandis and C. rotundifolia.
