Abstract

The Star graph Sn, n\≥ 3, is the Cayley graph on the symmetric group\nSymn generated by the set of transpositions (12),(13),\…,(1n) . In\nthis work we study eigenfunctions of Sn corresponding to the second largest\neigenvalue n-2. For n\≥ 8 and n=3, we find the minimum cardinality of\nthe support of an eigenfunction of Sn corresponding to the second largest\neigenvalue and obtain a characterization of eigenfunctions with the minimum\ncardinality of the support.\n
