Abstract: Applied comparative literature in contemporary Algerian literary criticism constitutes a fertile field for study and analysis, as it reflects the interaction between Algerian literature and world literatures, as well as how it is influenced by and influences various cultural contexts. This research paper addresses the main issues and trends that have emerged in contemporary Algerian literary criticism, with a focus on comparative literature as an analytical methodology. This critical approach has contributed to a better understanding of linguistic and cultural plurality in Algeria, and it explores how writers deal with questions of identity, memory, and gender. Contemporary critical studies have emphasized the importance of comparative literature as a tool for understanding Algerian literature within both local and global contexts, opening new avenues for future research and analysis.
