Improved determination of b quark mass from spectroscopy

Abstract

Using recently evaluated contributions (including a novel one calculated here), we present updated values for the pole mass and MS mass of the b quark: m_b=5022±58 MeV, for the pole mass, and m_b(m_b)=4286±36 MeV for the MS one. These values are accurate including, respectively, O(α_s⁵logα_s) and O(α_s³) corrections and, in both cases, leading orders in the ratio m_c²/m_b².
