The species of Malvipezia are presented in detail and illustrated based on recent European collections, including M. howsei, M. emileia, M. lividula, M. pauli, as well as three new species: M. pseudohowsei and M. similis, morphologically close to M. howsei, showing the difficulty to determine the latter, and M. violeopallens, a circumboreo-alpine species, found in Europe and Canada. Recent collections of M. pauli give the opportunity of better circumscribe this rare Mediterranean species. Some molecular data obtained from a collection identified as Peziza epixyla allow to synonymise this species with M. lividula. Based on ITS and LSU sequences, a phylogeny is proposed and commented. Finally, a determination key of European known Malvipezia is provided.
