Abstract

Large vessel sarcomas are rare tumors. Leiomyosarcoma is the most common primary malignant tumor of the inferior vena cava (IVC) and accounts for approximately 10% of primary retroperitoneal sarcomas. The clinical symptomatology is nonspecific and the treatment is surgical. We illustrate the contribution of imaging through a case of leiomyosarcoma revealed by right-upper quadrant abdominal pain. The diagnosis was suspected by cross-sectional imaging which showed a retro peritoneal solid mass arising from the wall of the retrohepatic inferior vena cava with endoluminal extension .The tumor was histologically confirmed.
