Near-openly generated groups are introduced. It is a topological and\nmultiplicative subclass of mathbb R-factorizable groups. Dense and open\nsubgroups, quotients and Raikov completion of a near-openly generated group are\nnear-openly generated. Almost connected pro-Lie groups, lindel " off almost\nmetrizable groups and the spaces Cp(X) of all continuous real-valued\nfunctions on a Tychonoff space X with pointwise convergence topology are\nnear-openly generated.\n We provide characterizations of near-openly generated groups using methods of\ninverse spectra and topological game theory.\n
