In medical literature, many case reports and case series about ischemic stroke being associated with iron deficiency anemia have been published and a correlation seems to exist between the two conditions, but not many observational studies have been published and to our knowledge no reviews on this topic are available. Based on these premises, in this review we want to assess if there is a higher incidence of ischemic stroke in iron deficient patients compared to normal population.
