Abstract

In this paper, under spherical symmetry we prove a trapped surface formation\ncriterion for the Einstein-Maxwell-charged scalar field system. We generalize\nan approach introduced by Christodoulou for studying the Einstein-scalar field.\nIn appendix, with double null foliation we also reprove Christodoulou's result\nand for Minkowskian incoming characteristic initial data, we improve\nChristodoulou's bound.\n
