As a scoping review typically encompasses all available evidence regardless of methodological quality or risk-of-bias assessment, it is particularly well-suited for synthesizing preclinical research. It enables the exploration of heterogeneous data without restricting synthesis to any particular methodology. Given the preliminary, heterogeneous, and preclinical nature of research concerning the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease using biomarkers from periodontal granulation tissue, a scoping review was deemed most appropriate to map existing studies, identify research gaps, and highlight areas for future investigation. This scoping review aims to synthesize current knowledge regarding periodontal granulation tissue biomarkers and explore their potential application in the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease.
