Abstract

This study investigated energy production and consumption regarding pollution production in Iran compared to the world. Important factors such as population growth, industrial development, and increased production activities and services require energy consumption. They have consequences regarding global environmental threats. These threats are more significant due to insufficient public awareness of energy consumption and the low efficiency of energy-consuming equipment, especially in underdeveloped countries. The present study aims to identify the relationship between energy production and consumption in the environment. It investigates the relationship between energy production and consumption and compares its role in greenhouse gas production in Iran and the world. The results of the study indicate that the current trend of energy production and consumption in the world plays a key role in increasing greenhouse gas production. Iran's relative share is higher compared to the amount of energy consumption and carbon dioxide production in the world. This article provides useful information for policymakers, activists, and experts on the relationship between global energy consumption and prospects resulting from the destructive impact of greenhouse gases caused by energy production and consumption in Iran.
