Taking account of environmental issues in agricultural practices has initiated the design, by many organizations for research-extension-training, of assessment methods and indicators. Through analytical work on the creation of a platform dedicated to the assessment of farming practices sustainability, the PLAGE project partners wanted access to the references data for calculation of indicators, pool work monitoring and update of those data in order to reduce global costs and facilitate interpretation of the results. But these partners have faced several difficulties: - the multiplicity of possible sources for a given information, - the diversity of computer softwares that complicates the interoperability of the databases, - the dissemination of data, whose property is often poorly or not set, with a large organizations panel, designers... The partners chose to limit the shared information to the needs common to different designers and to establish a common database, which would provide the database to each assessment tools. After reminding issues related to database sharing and the different initiatives underway, this paper presents: - the result of a comparative analysis of the databases used by the various tools of the partners and a first mapping of the reference databases existing at the national level. This work helped to establish a common base of data and proposals for possible sources for the common database; - the specification of the common database and the pooling scheme proposed; - the perspectives of development and enhancement of the database.
