Our study investigated the stock status of common carp in the reservoir of the Sidi Saad (Central Tunisia) during the year 2014. This species Cyprinus carpio communis (l., 1758) is present in the most artificial lakes in Tunisia and is one of the main species exploited in Tunisian reservoirs. The databases collected were analyzed by the routine “pseudo-cohorts” according to the VIT program. The actual stock of carp in Sidi Saad dam was characterized by individuals with the average of total length is 26.45cm which is greater than size of maturity. The results of the pseudo-cohort analysis indicate that the exploited biomass is about 143 tons. Stock assessment analyses that this species is not overexploited and that additional fishing effort may be considered.
