The azo-Schiff compound was prepared by reacting benzaldehyde with 4-ethoxyaniline to obtain the azo compound, The product is then sublimated with ethylenediamine by adding two drops of glacial acetic acid to form the final ligand, azo-Schiff. After that, metal complexes were formed from the reaction of metal chlorides Fe+2, Co+2 and Ni+2 with the azo Schiff ligand. All compounds were characterized by infrared spectrometry, Ultraviolet-visibl spectrometry Uv-vis., C.H.N spectroscopies, As for (proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR) and mass spectrometry the ligand, While magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity for complexes . Through these measurements the octahedral shape of these complexes appears. The biological activity of the new azo-Schiff ligand and its complexes has been studied against two types of Eseherichia coli and staphylococus aureus bacteria.
