Sensitivity study of the search for the rare decay D⁰ → π⁺π^- ν ν at FCC-ee

Abstract

This note presents a sensitivity study for the rare charm decay D⁰ → π⁺π^- ν ν at the Future Circular Collider (FCC-ee) operated a the Z pole with 6 × 10¹² produced Z bosons. Preliminary results indicate that an observation with a significance 5(3)~σ at the level of 1.6 × 10⁻⁶ (9.7 × 10⁻⁷) could be possible, which is within the parameter space allowed in BSM models. The presented results are very preliminary and will be developed further.
