The physicochemical characteristics of honey was studied in different agro-ecologies in Amuru district, Horro Guduru Wollega Zone, of Western Ethiopia. A multi-stage stratified sampling strategy was used to choose the agro-ecologies. Twenty-seven honey samples from highland, lowland, and mid-land agro-ecologies were purposefully collected from beekeepers and tested in the lab at the Holetta Bee Research Centre for moisture content, ash content, electrical conductivity, hydroxy-methylfurfural, sucrose, glucose, fructose content, as well as pH. The parameters of the average amount of honey produced were as follows: hydroxy-methylfurfural, sucrose, glucose, fructose, free acidity content, and pH value; 18.956±.780, 0.3722±.02657, 0.7478±.04085, 3.267±1.1359, 2.6756±.1611, 30.6633±1.008, 32.3011±.516, 22.22±.805, and so on. The moisture, ash, and electrical conductivity varied significantly (P < 0.05) between the various agro ecologies. The concerned office needs to take measures to maximize honey production potential and increase the commodity's share of the export market, as all of the samples were less adulterated and can be used for human consumption.
