This work explores how probiotics, through their ability to modulate the gut microbiota, immune responses, and metabolic pathways, may support conventional treatments for esophageal cancer. Beyond potential anticancer effects, probiotics can reduce treatment-related complications such as infections, mucositis, and gastrointestinal side effects, thereby improving patients’ quality of life. However, current evidence is limited by small, heterogeneous studies, highlighting the need for standardized protocols and larger clinical trials.
