This article illustrates some approaches for developing agro-ecology in the cereal value chain particularly focusing on wheat for human consumption. Based on our research and interviews with stakeholders, we have highlighted a number of specific features of this sector. We noticed that the mobilization of actors is more likely to be initiated downstream of production in the field, and the numerous specifications could lead to management and traceability difficulties for storage collectors and cooperatives. In addition, the multiplicity of distinctive product labels can make it difficult for consumers to read. Finally, these approaches appear to be essentially incremental rather than disruptive.
