The red mullets (Mullus ) are generally exploited by trawl and coastal fisheries. The examination of statistical data shows that the red mullet's products are important with regard to the two exploitation modes; in fact, they represent 6.3% in the total landing in Tunisia. The trawl fishing is the most important, 78% are fished while 22% by coastal fishing. The sector 37.5 (South and East) proves to be the most productive (91.4%) for 8.6% for the sector 37.3 (North).
