Background:The acute intussusception is atypical emergencyin pediatric surgery. Its diagnosis is easy thankstothecontributionoftheultrasound. Intheabsenceofcontra-indications,reductionunderafluo- roscopic guidance is certainlythe most widely used method. However, the therapeutic care can also be performed under sonographic guidance. Aim:Theobjectiveofthisstudyistoevaluatethemanagementofacuteintussusceptionbyhighlighting the different therapeutic modalities and by emphasizing the contribution of ultrasound in the treatment of this affection. Methods:Thispaperdescribesaretrospectivestudyof142intussusceptionpatientstreatedintheDe- partment ofPediatric Surgeryof“HabibThameur” Hospital overaperiod of13years. Results:92boysand50girlshavebeenstudied with a median age of 13 months. In the absence of contra-indications, hydrostatic reduction un- der radioscopic control have been applied for 90 children(63,4%)witch75casehavebeensuccess- ful (83. 4%). Furthermore, hydrostatic reduction under ultrasound guidance was attempted for 38 patients.
