New medical faculties have been established at the three universities of Linz, Augsburg, and Bielefeld in recent years. The university libraries are responsible for the literature supply. There were different prerequisites for the collection development regarding the already existing literature stock and licences, and the cooperation with clinical partner institutions. At the same time, commonalities exist including the dynamics of the establishment of research and teaching at the new campuses, close collaboration with the faculties, complex user groups, an almost entirely electronic journal collection, and at the same time a hybrid approach to the provision of textbooks and monographs. In this article, we describe the literature supply concepts at our respective locations and address the resulting tasks and roles of the library.
