Climate change has intensified the need for sustainable building materials that reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption. Traditional construction materials contribute significantly to climate change due to their high embodied energy and limited recyclability. This study is part of a longer project to explore the performance of alternative, sustainable building materials that might be friendlier to the environment. The study is performed using a controlled hotbox experiment. The hotbox, adapted from McCormickís design (2023), provides an accessible, low-cost method for physical testing of thermal performance.
