Dans l'imaginaire collectif, le nom de Germaine de Staël ne saurait être associé au roman noir, tant ses deux romans de 1802 et 1807, Delphine et Corinne, semblent à première vue se limiter à la seule thématique de l'amour, cœur du roman rose. Or, nous souhaiterions montrer combien le roman Delphine est travaillé par des passions noires, telles que la jalousie, la violence, le désir de destruction, qui traversent la quasi totalité des personnages. Dans ce roman épistolaire, qui emprunte à La Nouvelle Héloïse, le rose se teint de noir pour mieux faire surgir des ressorts passionnels habituellement absents d'une littérature qui n'évoque que la passion amoureuse. Abstract In the collective imagination, Germaine de Staël's name cannot be associated with the black novel, as her two novels of 1802 and 1807, Delphine and Corinne, seem at first sight to be limited to the sole theme of love, the heart of the pink novel. However, we would like to show how much the novel Delphine is filled with dark passions, such as jealousy, violence, and the desire for destruction, which run through almost all the characters. In this epistolary novel, which borrows from La Nouvelle Héloïse, the pink is tinged with black to better bring out the springs of passion usually absent from a literature that only evokes passion in love.
