Within the framework of organic farming, the management of bioagressors is based on a global approach using a set of environmentally-friendly methods. Nevertheless, the demand by producers for rapidly-operational protection solutions may lead researchers to focus on measures such as the use of phytosanitary products. The Organic Farming Research Group (GRAB) has been conducting experiments in the area of organic crop production for the past 30 years. It has attempted to develop an analysis grid of its results in order to put them in perspective within the framework of a global organic approach. This analysis is based on various multi-level crop protection approaches. It determines priorities for experiments at three levels, according to the direct impact of the pest protection. The number of experiments carried out by level was then monitored over nine years. Experiments at each of the levels showed effective results. However, the limits encountered led to an increase in GRAB research at the global approach levels of the system. This multi-level analysis appears to be promising for determining the choice of future experiments for an experimental station or a sector. It must make it possible to monitor the balance between levels and to anticipate new partnerships and know-how required by these global approaches.
