Abstract

Abstract: Communication is a fundamental aspect of human life, connecting individuals and societies throughout history. It underpins relationships, drives civilizations, and reflects progress. From cave inscriptions to digital messages, communication has evolved beyond words to convey emotions, values, and abstract ideas, which vary in interpretation across cultures. In today’s rapidly expanding communication landscape, the question of “meaning” is more relevant than ever. How can mutual understanding persist amid technological advances and globalization? This study explores the impact of modern communication tools, such as the internet and social media, on meaning-making, questioning whether they foster understanding or distort meaning. The research examines the role of language in conveying and interpreting messages and analyzes technology’s influence on shaping meaning through digital platforms and algorithms. Lastly, it addresses philosophical challenges in the digital age, including the credibility of meaning, identity concerns, and the effect of virtual spaces on deep reflection and comprehension.
