Burn patients are at high risk of infection due to loss of skin barrier, immunosuppression, and multiple invasive procedures such as central venous catheters. Although bloodstream infections are commonly reported, less is documented about endocarditis in this patient population. Infective endocarditis (IE) is an important complication that can lead to significant morbidity and mortality. However, data are sparse regarding incidence, risk factors, causative organisms, and outcomes of IE in burn patients. A systematic review of the existing literature will help consolidate current evidence on the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods, therapeutic approaches, and outcomes of endocarditis in burn patients. Such a review could inform clinicians and researchers, highlighting knowledge gaps and directing future research.
