Abstract

This article analyzes the play I tak mi nikt nie uwierzy by Jolanta Janiczak. The author explores storytelling techniques and ways of representing the past that go beyond traditional historiography. Janiczak’s play is linked to experimental and potential histories. The article compares the story of Barbara Zdunk with legal systems that have historically questioned women’s credibility as victims. It also highlights broader historical and modern contexts of women’s oppression, drawing parallels between past witch trials and today’s ways of discrediting victims of sexual violence. The analysis shows the empowering and restorative potential of literature, which not only reconstructs forgotten histories but also challenges dominant narratives through feminist reinterpretations of the past.
