Abstract

Cupping therapy, as a traditional external healing practice around the world, is broadly classified into two types: dry-cupping therapy and wet-cupping therapy. The general population considers cupping therapy to be a simple, relatively low-risk method of pain relief. The risks of cupping therapy are still unknown, though. The current ambiguity and uncertainty around the terms "adverse reactions to cupping therapy" and "adverse events of cupping therapy" significantly impacts the impartial assessment of the risks and safety of cupping therapy.
